Descripción

Villanoño, a small village situated 3 km away from Villadiego, has another good example of fortified architecture. The tower has 15 m high and forms a perfect square. Some auxiliary buildings are next to it, and it was surrounded by a barbican which had a lancet arch that still remains. It belonged to the Marquina family and it still preserves some original windows. It was built in the fifteenth century, although it has a coat of arms dated in 1664.
