Birdwatching in Cuatro Villas of Amaya

The environment of the Cuatro Villas of Amaya, situated in the region of Odra-Pisuerga, is an exceptional place to enjoy nature, particularly bird watching. These wide cereal lands, which have the largest populations of Great Bustards in our province, contrast with the landscape of the river Odra or the small wetlands. This unique blend of landscapes becomes the perfect place to watch different types of birds such as the steppe or the aquatic birds. It is a great opportunity to enjoy birds in their natural habitat.

We will continue our route until we find the inhabited village of Tabanera and the village of Villaveta, where you can see the most important colony of Lesser Kestrels of our province. In our trip to Villasandino, we will enjoy in a special area where we can watch Great Bustards, Little Bustards, Black-Bellied Sandgrouses, Montagu’s Harriers and Calandra Larks. From this place, we will go on till Grijalba, where you can watch interesting birds such as the Black-winged Stilts or the Marsh Harriers. After visiting this wetland, one of the most important ones in our province, we will find Castrillo de Murcia.
