The strategic importance of Peña Amaya is due to its location and morphology. That’s why, this mystic mountain has had different human settlements through the centuries. Remains of different ages have been found in these mountains.

In Peña Ulaña, the remains are very important because of their expanse and antiquity. Hidden by the rocks of the mountain and by a wall that is 3.5 meters wide, the ancient village, situated on top of the Peña Ulaña, belonged to the Iron Age. 267 structures of different forms were found in archeological excavations. These constructions had either a funeral or a housing use.
